The most commonly mined conflict minerals are coltan (for tantalum), cassiterite (for tin), wolframite (for tungsten) and gold, which are extracted from Democratic Republic of Congo from Africa (DRC). These minerals are essential in the manufacture of a variety of electronic devices.

Although Cartong Co., Ltd. does not directly purchase any minerals from its suppliers, as a good corporate citizen, Cartong still strongly object using these illegal-mined metals (such as cobalt, tin, palladium, tantalum, tungsten and gold) derived from the conflict regions, which are controlled by armed groups in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries.

In order to avoid using conflict minerals in the process of raw materials purchase as well as production, suppliers to Cartong Co., Ltd. must adopt a policy regarding conflict minerals consistent with Cartong’s policy and notify their upstream suppliers of such requirements at the meanwhile to bear our social responsibilities.
